HailMapr CRM & field guide

Find the areas worth targeting—not just the storm footprint.

Ground Impact is a key part of the HailMapr advantage. It estimates where hail likely reached the ground, helping roofing and PDR teams prioritize areas for inspection before committing time in the field.

See the ground-level signal

A broad hail swath shows the estimated footprint of an event. Ground Impact adds a targeting layer with estimated ground-level hail sizes and signal patterns. Use it to compare neighborhoods, dealership lots, and fleet locations within the storm area.

Compare size and persistence

Color bands show estimated hail sizes. Solid persistent areas indicate a signal that held together across multiple radar scans; hatched isolated areas indicate a more limited signal. Start with stronger connected areas, then compare nearby reports and the timing of the event.

A larger size band does not mean every address experienced that exact hail size. Review the legend and local context before choosing an area.

Put the layer to work

  1. Open an accessible storm map or sample.
  2. Choose Layers and turn on Ground Impact.
  3. Compare estimated hail-size bands and persistent versus isolated patterns.
  4. Review available hail reports and radar replay.
  5. Save the locations you want to investigate and connect the work to your subscriber CRM.

Connect the target to the customer workflow

Roofing teams can connect properties, inspections, estimates, and follow-ups. PDR teams can connect residential, dealership, or fleet locations to vehicle jobs and panel inspections. The map helps plan the work; your CRM keeps the customer context and next action together.

Keep the evidence clear

Ground Impact is an estimate of hail exposure, not a damage inspection or a coverage determination. Confirm property conditions on site. Vehicles can move, so verify where each vehicle was during the event. Use historic storm data when more than one date may be relevant.

See the data and methodology guide for source distinctions and limitations.

Storm intelligence is part of the advantage.

Use Ground Impact to prioritize areas for inspection, historic storm data to research past events, and live hail maps to follow developing activity. Compare reports and radar replay before planning your next move.

Free accounts can enable weather alerts. Subscriptions connect your coverage and research tools with Roofing or PDR CRM access. Compare what is included.

Frequently asked questions

How does Ground Impact help with targeting?

It helps you compare estimated ground-level hail sizes and persistent versus isolated signals so you can prioritize areas for inspection rather than treating the entire storm footprint equally.

Can I preview Ground Impact?

Yes. Open an available sample storm map and enable Ground Impact in Layers. Paid map access and subscriber coverage are explained on the pricing page.

Does Ground Impact prove damage?

No. It estimates exposure and helps plan inspections. Document observed property or vehicle conditions separately.
