Watch: canvassing basics
1. Add the property in the right place
Open Canvass or an accessible storm map, find your working area and add a door pin. Confirm the address and location before saving. Include the homeowner's contact information when you have it. A storm association is optional: select a storm or enter a date of loss only when relevant.
2. Record the outcome, not just the contact
Choose a stage that explains the next action. No answer means you did not reach someone; it is different from Interested or Appointment set. Add notes about the conversation so the next visit does not start from scratch. Keep Do not knock distinct from a lost sales opportunity.
3. Set an appointment or a follow-up
Use the pipeline to move a lead forward. Moving to Appointment set prompts for the appointment date and time before saving. On mobile, use the stage dropdown if dragging is inconvenient. Review the Today view and your follow-up details when planning your day.
4. Record the inspection result
If an inspection finds work is needed, use the inspected/work-needed outcome and keep the pin open for the next step. If no work is needed, complete the pin without calling it sold or lost. The stored property and its history remain available.
5. Coordinate a team without sharing passwords
Each added rep has a separate account. New pins default to their creator, and the owner controls reassignment. Manage members from Profile → Team & seats. State and National subscriptions can add paid reps; Organization includes five accounts.
